I'm not sure if this was just a spurious nfs error that happened to cause it to bomb.<br /><br />The libc.so.1 error (libc.so.1 did exist at the time) was due to the fact that the exec'd util during the make process wanted the newer libc.so.1 which wasn't installed yet.<br /><br />There's no mention of problems with the dynamic root stuff in UPDATING when upgrading from 5.0, and I've yet to retry another 5.0 update to -current.<br /><br />In hindsight I should have rsync'd /usr/src and /usr/obj and /rescue over first.
